Strictly Business is among the first AWS (Amazon Web Services) Partners ever to gain public designation as an Standard Consulting Partner. In 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began offering IT infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now commonly known as cloud computing. One of the key benefits of cloud computing is the opportunity to replace up-front capital infrastructure expenses with low variable costs that scale with your business. With the Cloud, businesses no longer need to plan for and procure servers and other IT infrastructure weeks or months in advance. Instead, they can instantly spin up hundreds or thousands of servers in minutes and deliver results faster.
SBCS provides IT infrastructure migration services as well as custom software development designed to run in the AWS cloud. If you want to learn more about how AWS can reduce your IT infrastructure costs while improving its reliability contact us at (304) 529-0401 or info@sbcs.com.

Huntington, WV – January 27, 2010 - Strictly Business Computer
Systems, in alliance with Carroll Technologies Group, proudly introduces
the System and Monitoring (SaM™) System that builds on the
communication center requirement of Senate Bill 247 to deliver
unprecedented capability in incident and accident response.
West Virginia Senate Bill 247 passed to counter recent mine safety
system lapses triggered not only the development of technologies related
to miner location tracking and communication but also the advancement
of technologies for safety monitoring and response. Strictly Business
Computer Systems (SBCS) designed and built the Safety and Monitoring
(SaM™) System for operators to coordinate resources spread across
multiple company mines in response to incidents and accidents. With
SaM™, these operators can make the massive commitment to improvements in
safety while offsetting the cost with significant increases in
efficiency. The Federal MINER Act has opened new markets for SaM™ as
operators in other states struggle to comply with the new safety
standards. SBCS credits the regulatory foresight and enforcement found
in West Virginia with setting the national standard for driving
innovation in mine safety system development.
Strictly Business Computer Systems, a technology solutions company,
employs 30 people at our Huntington, WV headquarters and several
customer facilities. Continued SaM™ System development and customer
deployments utilize the talents of 4 dedicated network, software, and
safety engineers. Since receiving State approval for SaM™ in September
of 2009, we have fully deployed or are in the process of deploying SaM™
Systems at three mining complexes. The West Virginia safety precedent
reflected in the Federal MINER Act has prompted interest in SaM™ by
several Kentucky operators and has already resulted in one fully
operational system. Many more SaM™ Systems are in the final stages of
procurement negotiations.
Since its founding in 1985, Strictly Business has contributed over
$80M to the economy of West Virginia. Our SaM™ System represents an
investment of over $0.5M in research and development funds pledged to
keeping miners safe. With our partner, Carroll Technologies Group, we
applaud the hard work of Government officials, regulators, mine
operators, owners, and labor groups in cooperating on the success of
Senate Bill 247.

Huntington, WV April 01, 2010 Strictly Business engineers have developed a Facebook photo sketching tool called "The Doodler".
When you think of "doodles", you probably think of simple
drawings or abstract shapes created with a pen on paper that may or may not
have meaning. You probably find yourself
"doodling" while talking on the telephone or sitting in an uneventful
meeting. Actually, this is probably how
our team developed the idea!
The Doodler allows you to add your own slice of creativity to the
photos of your Facebook friends. It
offers a drawing pen, thought bubbles, text, and an assortment of shapes called
"Doodads" for you to play with as you doodle on your friends' pics. The more doodles you create, the more tickets
you earn. The more tickets you earn, the
more Doodads you get. The more Doodads
you get, the more creative you can be.
It all adds up to a ton of fun as you add your own thoughts to your
Facebook friends' photos. It's that
simple and that easy.
Check out the beta version of "The Doodler" on
Facebook
(http://apps.facebook.com/doodler) and try it out!
